My family and I are in NYC to attend the THP annual gala and then to observe the global board meeting the next day.
We arrived early to time adjust and we take a short tour of the city including Time Square which is just getting bigger and brighter and glitzier every time I see it.
There is just such a show of wealth and consumption it is really quite amazing and you can spot the tourists like us as we are the ones gawking.
The second contrast hits me as I finally look down and see a homeless person sleeping in a doorway and I am jarred back to a different reality.
It makes me reflect on the disparity in the messages that America is sending its own people and the rest of the world.
